27th Annual Snowball - Best One Yet!

Wow.  What an incredible weekend.  It’s hard to describe just how much work went into making Snowball 2015 the success that it was. Everything – planning all year, working with partners and vendors, setting up, running the actual party and cleaning up on Sunday – was a tremendous effort.  We couldn’t have done it without the overwhelming support of our Members, volunteers, and guests.  Thank you all SO MUCH for your help!  Being able to write a check for $200,000 for the kids at Lurie really made all the work worthwhile.

A big round of applause goes to the Exec Board, too – especially Meghan McCambridge, our Director of Snowball Operations.  It was Meghan’s dedication that turned her vision into a reality for all of us on Saturday night.  If you see her, give her a high five, a pat on the back, and a shot of your choosing – she deserves it! Thanks for your leadership, Sarge.

“We’re thrilled with the results of our past year of fundraising and Snowball,” said Meghan McCambridge, director of Snowball. “Thank you to all of our partners for making this Snowball the best one yet! I am humbled by the support from the attendees and Chicagoland businesses.”

Junior Council worked with local restaurants for twenty-five amazing Chicago restaurants showcasing their cuisine at Snowball. Our amazing Junior Council members and executive board were able to collect some phenomenal auction and raffle items. We had everything from professional authentic signed jerseys, signed footballs, signed football cleats, Chicago's best gift certificates, ladies apparel and jewelry, artwork, tickets to events and trips to various places and one of a kind experiences. Thanks to everyones hard work we were able to have one of our best auctions ever  bringing in a little over $40,000 this year.

If you had as much fun as we did at Snowball, we highly encourage you to look into getting involved with Junior Council. It’s truly a great organization filled with bright, cool, fun people with a common goal of getting involved and giving back to a cause we care about. We work hard, but we have a ton of fun along the way. Just check out www.juniorcouncil.org for more information!

Now – Snowball 2015 has been packed up and put away. We’ve got a lot to do for Snowball 2016, but we’re totally going to crush it. So come on out, have some beers with us, and let’s do even more in the coming year!

Peace out, Cub Scouts –
JC
